Wholesale Common Goldfish

Common goldfish (Carassius auratus) are a member of the goldfish family. They have orange scales with a long, slender body and a straight tail fin. They range in size from 1.5" to as large as 14".

Common goldfish are primarily solid orange in color but do have other variations. You can occasionally find some with black markings, or some that are solid white or solid black. However, the most popular variations are the pond comet and the sarasa comet, which is mainly white with red markings.

Like all other goldfish, common goldfish are hatched from an egg and are smaller than an eyelash in the first days of life. Amazingly, by 45 days they will grow to a marketable size of 1.5" - 2.5" but will need additional time for their color to develop.

Common goldfish have a multitude of purposes. They are mainly used in the bait industry and in pet stores as feeder fish but they are also a community goldfish and will do great in any freshwater aquarium setting with all other goldfish. Also, common goldfish are very active and are suitable for outdoor ponds with koi and butterfly koi.
