Goldfish and koi landed cost calculation and low cost shipping solutions are just a few ways Ozark Fisheries can help you.
Q: Are your goldfish and koi guaranteed?
A: Yes. Please read over our Terms and Guarantee for our policy.
Q: Do you sell direct to the public?
A: No. Ozark Fisheries distributes our goldfish and koi to jobbers/wholesalers, pet stores and garden centers throughout the United States and Canada. If you would like to purchase our fish, please visit our Locate a Dealer section to find a location carrying our products.
Q: How many goldfish or koi can we put in a box?
A: The number of goldfish or koi per box depends on the size and type of fish and the time of year. In the winter we have a heavier pack than in the summer. We usually switch to summer packs when the temperatures are consistently at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. We have recommended pack rates based on size and variety of fish. However, if a customer requests a heavier pack we can accommodate that request, if the customer wishes to assume risk for possible goldfish or koi losses. Visit our Terms and Guarantee page to learn more.
Q: Can we mix varieties of goldfish or koi and/or snails, crayfish, tadpoles?
A: Yes. You can mix different sizes of goldfish or koi in the same box and different varieties. We do not recommend mixing straight-tailed goldfish or koi with fantails as the straight-tailed fish tend to be more aggressive and may damage the fins on the fantails. You may mix snails and tadpoles in the same box, or snails and crayfish. We do not advise the mixing of crayfish with any other product besides snails, because the crayfish tend to eat everything else. Tadpoles can be shipped with goldfish or koi. Due to the amount of oxygen they consume during shipping we do suggest a lighter pack rate.
Q: Do I have to take a full box of goldfish or koi when I order?
A: No. We will ship as few as one goldfish or koi per box up to the recommended pack rate. As long as you meet the minimum order requirements. Contact one of our sales reps to learn about our minimum order policy.
Q: What is the average charge for shipping goldfish or koi by air freight, and do I have to pick the goldfish up at the airport, or will they deliver to the door?
A: Air freight charges are based on 100 lb. weight minimums. Costs vary from airline to airline, with a approximate cost of $90 per 100 lbs. which is equal to 5 boxes of fish. You are responsible for picking the fish up at the airline cargo facility or making arrangements for delivery via courier service. YES, we ship TO YOUR DOOR daily Monday through Friday via UPS or FEDEX or DHL into Canada. With some of the lowest freight rates in the country, we are more than happy to quote freight costs to you by phone, fax or e-mail.
Q: How do I figure the landed cost of my fish?
A: There is a basic formula for figuring landed cost, take all costs listed on the invoice, add your air freight charges (shipments are sent COLLECT freight), employee time/expense and fuel.
For example if you order 1000 fish and the total amount spent to get your fish to the door is $249.10 you will divide that amount by 1000 fish – your landed cost is $.25 per fish.
