Like most cities around the globe, this past Friday was our local high school’s graduation. With 29 seniors receiving diplomas, our graduating class is just slightly smaller than the average class size. So what does Stoutland High’s graduating class have to do with Ozark goldfish and koi?
You see, Ozark Fisheries was built in a very rural community. So rural, in fact, our local town doesn’t have a gas station or police force, the fire department is ran solely by volunteers and each year our high school graduating class averages around 30 students.
But, the land surrounding our community is perfect for raising cattle, baling hay, harvesting a few row crops and most importantly raising some of the finest goldfish and koi in the nation.
So we have to drive a little further than most people to pick up a few groceries or fill up our vehicles with gas, but we sure enjoy the scenery on our drive to town.
Hope to hear from you soon,
